Our most prized possesions

I recently found an article and a dbate on the internet about what would be the one thing that you would take away from your house if it was burning. I thought this was interesting since we all live in such a materialistic world, there were the obvious answers my cat, my dog and such. But maybe 90% of the answers included my $2,000 suit, my $10,000 computer. My 100 year aged bottle of wine priced at who knows how much. I dont know about them, but for me my most priced possesions are two things a wooden box in which I keep my favorite pictures and my journal and a little tin box which dates to WWI, the Queen of England gave this box to every soldier who was wearing his full uniform on christimas. How this ended in my possession I have no idea, but here I keep the things that mean the most to me, my fraternity pin, my pledge pin, a letter from my dad, a picture of me and my gf and my cross... Yeah I also use it to keep my credit cards, but overall those are the two things I would save. I would obvoiulsy miss all my clothes and computer but you can buy those again, memories cant be redone. What would you save?

Dumbledore is gay...

I have been wanting to write about this for a while, but I have found myself not blogging. It is kind of a random shock to know that one of the most loved characters in the Harry Potter series has just been called gay by its author J.K. Rowling. Now I can see this in two ways, one she is supporting the gay community by making one of her mysterious characters gay and this will open new doors in the gay acceptance or second it is just a trick for more people to buy her book. She just got herself a whole new market with her little publicity stunt, now people will buy the books and try to find the "signs" she put in the book about Dumbledore and his past. Whatever the reason is, I must admit it is really random that it came now. Why she did it? We might nevr know...

Scientology

Tom Cruise can't say no to his daughter Suri because Scientology forbids it. The 'Top Gun' star and his wife Katie Holmes are encouraged by the sci-fi cult, of which they are both devout followers, to "support" their 18-month-old child, not scold her. A source said: "Tomand Katie have a hard time saying no to Suri. It's all about being positive and supportive. Scientology advises parents to try to be the child's friend. They don't scold their children, but instead explain that bad behaviour is the 'wrong action'. "Tom and Katie are very lenient with Suriand don't like to give her too many rules. Suri pretty much does whatever she wants, whenever she wants. If she fusses before bed, they let her stay up later. If they want her to go swimming and she cries, they'll take her out. If she whines about food, they'll ask her what else she wants to eat. They always want to please her." Suri, who is still too young to take Scientology classes, is also constantly surrounded by Scientologists and her two nannies are members of the 'religion'. The source added to Us Weekly magazine: "Tom doesn't like associating with people who aren't Scientologists." Tom, who has been hailed by leaders of the faith as the "chosen one", reportedly sent his two adopted teenage children to Scientology summer camp this year. A source revealed: "The summer camp is part of Scientology's 'get them while they're young' campaign." A Scientology representative has denied the faith interferes with the disciplining of its followers' children. The representative said: "How a parent disciplines their child is left up to the parent."

I used to think Tom Cruise was awesome, besides the fact that he is really really short, he had an amazing life. He was with Nicole Kidman but quickly ruined that one up, and went with Katie Holmes, really Tom Cruise? Thats the best you can do? But that is the least of my problems with him, SCIENTOLOGY?! Really? He is the chosen one? And he believes it and only hangs out with people that are like him? Give me a break. I understand that everyone has their own right to follow their own religion regardless of what it might be or follow. But he is taking it wayyyyyyyy too far. Now he cant say no to his daughter? Guess how girls end like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. You guessed it, daddy does not say no to them! But if that is what he wants to do, go for it. He completely destroyed his career, appeared like a lunatic in Oprah and oh yeah broke up with Nicole Kidman, what an idiot! So if scientology makes him happy go for it. Cant wait to see the huge whore his daughter will be growing with a father like that haha...

Crackberry

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071010/ap_on_hi_te/phantom_vibrations

I found this link some minutes ago and thought it was really interesting. I belive in every word it says for I swear I feel my phone vibrating and half the time is nothing. Some rain recently ruined my old phone(Worse thing ever) and for that one day I did not have my phone I was freaking out, what if someone tried to call me? What if someone sent me a message? What if something happened? I still kept touching my pocket to see if it was there and suprise there was no phone, it was probably the worse day of my life. Not only because of the phone but that same day I also got a flat tire, ruined my HMWK because of the rain, ruined my ipod and my running shoes... Great times.
So now to make things worse for me I bought a blackberry, I love the phone, I use it as my dayplanned, alarm clock, calendar, everything... I am afraid I am addicted to my phone, and that is a problem...

sneaky football play

Now this is some play, it is illegal on almost all divisions of football, HS, College, Pro, etc. But still it is pretty cool haha... Just in case SMU needs a backup play for our playbook. Since we pretty much use the same three plays anyways, why not give it a shot? Worse case scenario we get a penalty...

I love cookies for some weird reason. I never really ate them back in Guatemala unless it was christmas when my mom would make thousands of varieties and still I wouldnt eat that many. I am not a person that will eat sweets that much, dont find them that good. But recently my girlfriend has been bringing me cookies her cook make, they are soooooooooooo good! I mean she makes the best peanut butter cookies ever and her caramel cookies are heaven haha. So I think I have become addicted to them, to such an extent that today I was feeling sick and ate a cookie and out of knowhere felt completely better. Thats why I posted this video, you will enjoy it haha...

Money for Darfur

Today in our fraternity chapter they told us that during this week and next we would be holding several charity events to raise awareness for Darfur and to raise money for them. I kno what is happening in Darfur, I think it is horrible and will happily donate money in order to stop that, to help them. But I really think is dumb that all this dumb persons at SMU are using this as an excuse to make a party. When I asked people if they knew what was going on in Darfur most had no idea! They didnt know were it was, what was happening or even why there were chairty events. They are just using it as a technique to rush kids, and I think that is the worse way to do it. They are just using a tragedy to their own advantage, they couldnt care less about Darfur, they just want to party and drink more. I love to party, but I also know that this is a tragedy that affects all the world and I dont want to be one more dumb SMU student which will party and pay $20 for something I have no idea what it is. I care about whats going on, I will donate directly to the UN, not to some dumb group of people which hold dinners at their houses, charges 20 dollars to come. The money will probably never even go to Darfur, it will just be pocketed or used to make more parties. If they want to rush people be my guest, dont use a tragedy like this for that cause. I refuse to go to any party which exploits such a thing. I believe it is sad that we have to recur to partying in order to raise awareness to such a tragedy. Dont come telling me that at the bar after a set amount of money has been spent on drinks the rest will go to charity, thats like saying get drunk, make the bar more money, make us more money and if there is any left we will donate it, why not? Fuck that! This really pisses me off!
